Oh, the art show went just swimmingly! There were people there... appreciating my art! What a wonderful feeling it is to be appreciated in such a way. In fact, I even sold a couple of pieces. The lovely glassmaker, Mr. Griffith bought a piece of a castle that I had painted on a trip that I took a year ago. I was never quite fond of the shading on that one - that was before I bought my fan brush. Which I must say, eveyone needs a fan brush to do proper shading! But he just stood there looking at it for a while before asking to purchase it.

Such a wonderful feeling! And of course, that darling Le Chat! Such a wonderful creature to put together such a magnificint event!

But now I must wrap up the piece to deliver to Mr. Griffith. Such are the burdens of being an artist...

Wonderful! With any luck, we shall be able to advance your livelihood and romantic life in the same motions, mademoiselle!

You are just so wonderful, Le Chat! I will be sure to keep you informed!

Oh, I always did think your work was beautiful! I am so proud that I could weep!

In fact, I think I shall.

Oh Mother, you've always been supportive of me, and it makes me weep with joy when I think about it! Unlike some other family members that shall remain nameless...

Tears are the paint with which God paints emotions on our soul... oh Mother, you inspire me so!

The apple falls not far from the tree! I do so wish that your dear father could see you now. His heart would overflow with happiness!

I've often wished that my skills were then as they are now so that I may have been able to paint him in his prime! I do miss him, and think of him often.

Master Griffith bought a painting? You didn't tell me that -- although I can't really be surprised, as many figurines as we buy from him. But I'm glad he found one he liked, he seems like a very nice young man. A bit unsanitary, with all that ash and soot, but nice all the same.

You're delivering it to him, then? Er -- I suppose you'll end up browsing in his shop, then... Please, please remember the weekly spending limit, Catty, and just get one this time?
Catherine D'Aubigneartsycatherine on June 11th, 2004 08:50 am (UTC)
Oh Eleanore, really, I will not spend more than you deem necessary on such beautiful works. And besides, you will be going with me to deliver the painting, so you can impose your Draconian rules in person.
Ellabefore_midnight on June 11th, 2004 09:10 am (UTC)
Me? You're a grown woman, Cat, why do you need me to go with you just to deliver a painting?
Catherine D'Aubigneartsycatherine on June 11th, 2004 03:58 pm (UTC)
Because I can't talk to him by myself! Why... why I just can't! You must be there with me... help me create conversation!

Really, you aren't going to turn down your sister, are you Eleanore?

Of course you can talk to him by yourself. You've done it before -- just compliment him on his glasswork, and thank him for buying a painting. It's not difficult, really.

Catty, you don't have a crush on Master Griffith, do you? Is that what this is about?

That's so cute!

Re: Private to Eleanore
[private to Eleanore]
No I do not! I just... I just don't want it to look suspicious and you spend gracious amounts of time in the glasshop, so it wouldn't look that ususual...

Ok, so what if I do? Please Eleanore, please help me with this. I don't want to go there by myself. He gives me butterflies and I would feel so much more comfortable if I wasn't left to fend for myself.

Please, for your sister?

Abigail's been in the shop without me before. It didn't look suspicious then.

All right, all right, I'll go. Just as long as you understand that I can't always be there to back you up. You'll have to get used to talking to him without me, eventually. But if you really need moral support, I'll go.

Oh thank you! Thank you!

I love you, dearest sister of mine!
